Party Activities:
- Ask your guests to make a checklist of environment saving ideas and give out a prize for the guest with the most suggestions. Take a look at the list from Kaboose.com
- Have a bin with items such as water bottles, plastic bags, cans etc and have a contest to see who can turn the item into the most clever recycled object.
- Plant a tree or herb garden
- Release butterflies
Food and Drink:
Try serving up dishes that are made with organic ingredients and pesticide free. Take a trip to your local farmers’ market and choose seasonal fruits and vegetables. Avoid buying foods that have been shipped from out of state or country to help save on high fuel costs. Instead of buying imported brie and gouda opt for artisan cheese from neighboring farms.
The same applies for beer and wine. Choose smaller micro breweries and organic wines. For non- alcoholic beverages, offer guests drinks that are packaged in recyclable materials such as aluminum cans or glass bottles.
